HNB is a leading private sector commercial bank in Sri Lanka. With over 250 customer centers and 820 ATMs nationwide, HNB offers a comprehensive range of financial services, including personal banking, corporate solutions, and digital banking innovations.

Since 2019, as part of GroupM Sri Lanka, I have been collaborating with HNB on their marketing initiatives. My key responsibilities include:

  • Concept Development: Creating innovative ideas and concepts for various marketing campaigns.
  • Key Visuals Guidance: Providing direction to designers for key visuals, ensuring they align with campaign objectives.
  • English Copywriting: Developing engaging narratives and content for advertisements and promotional materials.
  • Design Oversight: Reviewing and guiding design elements to maintain consistency with HNB’s brand identity.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensuring all content and designs meet high standards before deployment.

Cards - Bumper

To promote HNB's diverse credit card offers, we created targeted bumper ads for various user segments. For example, sports enthusiasts saw "Score the best offers with HNB Credit Cards," while food lovers received dining-related messages. This approach ensured relevant promotions reached the right audiences, enhancing engagement with HNB's offerings.

Singithi Split Post

Launched a series of engaging videos to promote “HNB Giftober.” I conceptualized and directed these thumb-stopping visuals, creating an illusion where characters appeared to pop out of Facebook and Instagram feeds, captivating our audience’s attention. I oversaw the entire production process, from initial concept development to shooting and editing, ensuring a cohesive and impactful campaign.

Effective us of AI - Ask Habio

In 2023, I conceived the initial idea for the “Ask Habio” campaign and collaborated with a data scientist to bring it to fruition. We utilized AI deep learning to analyze customer behaviors, delivering personalized credit card offers during the Christmas season. From over 300 available offers, “Ask Habio” matched selections to individual personalities, enhancing user engagement.

Key Outcomes:

Increased Card Spending: Achieved a 23% uplift in overall credit card expenditures.

Growth in Niche Categories: Realized a 300% surge in spending within specialized segments.

Budget Efficiency: Accomplished these results despite a 34% reduction in the marketing budget for that year.
